The second Bhava or house in Indian astrology represents the face, features, family, Speech, self earning, dental health, etc.
Late Dr B.V Raman has said that to judge the effects of a Bhava in a horoscope judge the Bhava, Bhava lord and the karaka or the significator of that Bhava.

Second Bhava is also one of the four houses of finance in Vedic astrology. So it is essential that 2nd Bhava is free from malefic aspects, malefic association and
malefic occupation for financial prosperity.

The second Bhava indicates ones own family by Marriage, so family happiness depends on the above said factors.
Second Bhava also shows the kind of primary education a person has, as per the planetary influence in his horoscope.

In Indian astrology exchange of houses between lords of 2nd and 7th, 2nd and 9th, 2nd and 5th, 2nd and 11th are very good for over all happiness.
The presence of lords of 6th, 8th and 12th is not welcome in the 2nd Bhava of a horoscope. 6th lord can cause debts, 8th lord litigations and 12th lord financial loss or over spending.

Planets and 2nd Bhava;- Sun in 2nd of a horoscope can make  person a scholar but it should be a friendly house for Sun and it should be un afflicted.
If afflicted he may stammer in speech.

Moon: good education, good behavior and good family.

Mars: - Anger at the tip of the nose. Rather rash in speech and action. Likely to be called a ruffian.

Mercury: gives a very sweet and diplomatic speech. Afflicted mercury will change the person into a confident trickster.

Jupiter: religious family, wise speech and good family.

Venus: increase in longevity, increase in material possessions, Good and beautiful wife/husband

Saturn: Delayed thought and action Likely to miss the bus on many occasions. Will not speak the truth. Stained finance hence strained family life.

Raahu: - Very harsh and hurting speech. He will have a mark in the eye.

Kaytu: - third party interference may happen in the family life. Separation is also possible.
